Keezletown School

Currently, the Horizons Learning Foundation is preparing to renovate the Keezletown School, and apply for historical status. The Keezletown School was the first public school to be built in the Central District of Rockingham County. Originally built in 1877, the school’s initial two-frame building was replaced by a four-room frame building constructed on the new property and relocated to its current location at the intersection of Mountain Road and Indian Trail Road in 1899. In 1907, after a fire destroyed the school, a new brick school was built on the site of the present school at Keezletown.

Horizons Learning Foundation supports students regardless of race, color, sex, age or national origin.
